My name is Alice Evans. I live in rural Carmarthenshire, West Wales, UK. I am a handspinner, designer and handweaver of, primarily, soft furnishings. I also teach spinning, weaving for beginners and improvers, and I hold dyeing days.

Originally, I was taught by Eileen Chadwick at Howell's School, Denbigh, in spinning weaving and dyeing. Those skills stayed with me during the years of nursing, farming and family life.
I am fortunate to have completed 'Access to Design (Textiles)' at Carmarthen College, Anna Bowers Bursary Award, and an HNC in 'Handwoven Textile Design' at Bradford.

Most of my work now arises from commissions using wool or alpaca, designed and woven after discussion with my client. Rugs, throws, cushions and scarves are the most frequently requested pieces but I am always willing to discuss other ideas. Also I design handwoven items for exhibition and sale. The use of good yarn, often handspun, in relatively simple weave structures is important to me.
